Second Day of Eid-al-Adha Celebrated Today!

Police and Municipalities Ensure Peaceful and Trouble-Free Eid al-Adha

Today marks the second day of Eid al-Adha, and the General Directorate of Police and municipalities have taken measures to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free celebration.

In a statement issued by the General Directorate of Police, they extended their wishes for a healthy, peaceful, and accident-free holiday to the public. Citizens were reminded that they can reach the police 24/7 through various helpline numbers such as “155 Police Emergency, 199 Fire Brigade, 156 Alo Narcotic” to convey their complaints or seek assistance.

With the holiday expected to result in increased traffic, the police urged people to obey traffic rules, report those who don’t, and refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol. The aim is to maintain safety for both life and property.

Fortunately, apart from minor incidents, the holiday has been peaceful so far.

Weather conditions during the holiday period are expected to be mostly clear with some slight cloudiness. Inland areas can expect temperatures to reach around 35-38 degrees Celsius, while coastal regions will experience temperatures ranging from 29-32 degrees Celsius. The wind will be moderately strong, mainly blowing from the south and west directions.

Ercan Airport is anticipated to handle 471 planes and thousands of passengers during Eid al-Adha, excluding private aircraft. The airport will be bustling with arrivals and departures.

In addition, according to information provided by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, approximately 210 people from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are in Mecca to perform the pilgrimage in honor of Eid.

Overall, authorities are working diligently to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for everyone.
