Sibel Tatar’s Mother’s Day Visit to Lapta Nursing Home as First Lady
First Lady of Northern Cyprus, Sibel Tatar, recently paid a visit to Lapta Nursing Home on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Accompanied by Presidential Social Services and Social Policy Advisor Aydan Başkurt, Girne Vatan Lions Club President Nurtaç Ayet, Founding Member Figen Engüzel and Board Members, Tatar spent time with the elderly residents of the home. She congratulated the mothers on Mother’s Day and presented gifts to them, and also wished the fathers for Father’s Day in advance and gave them gifts as well. The Girne Vatan Lions Club also celebrated Tatar’s Mother’s Day with gifts and a lunch for the elderly residents. In her speech, Tatar appreciated the efforts of Lapta Nursing Home Manager Ahmet Sakinoğlu and his staff, and highlighted their aim of not severing the elderly’s ties with the outside world. Girne Vatan Lions Club President Ayet also wished all mothers a happy Mother’s Day, calling it a special day that carries a lot of meaning.
