
Suspects’ Statements Collected in IMM Corruption Investigation

Arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu and 51 Others in Major Criminal Investigation
In a significant development, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has announced the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the former president of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). İmamoğlu is facing serious allegations, including being the manager of a criminal organization, as well as charges of membership in a criminal organization, bribery, qualified fraud, and seizure of personal data.
The investigation was spearheaded by teams from the Anti-Financial Crimes Branch Directorate and extended across major cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, and Tekirdağ. Following a coordinated operation, authorities apprehended 51 suspects at the Istanbul Police Department’s headquarters on Vatan Street.
