Tashkent’s Heating Service Prices Experience Change
New Regulated Prices for Heat Supply Services Approved in Tashkent
The governor of Tashkent has approved new regulated prices for heat supply services provided by LLC PE Veolia Energy Tashkent. The decision aims to prevent sharp increases in tariffs by taking investment costs into account separately from the tariff structure.
According to the decision, starting from December 1, 2023, the regulated base prices for heat supply services provided by Veolia Energy Tashkent LLC GC will be set at 664,465 soums/Gcal without value-added tax. The breakdown of prices will be as follows:
– 91,960 soums/Gcal for the population (no change)
– 212,660 soums/Gcal for legal entities (previously 141,737 soums/Gcal)
– 801,963 soums/Gcal for budgetary organizations (previously 502,067 Gcal)
It is important to note that the decision also takes into account investment costs separately from the tariff structure in order to prevent a sharp increase in tariffs for centralized heat supply for budgetary organizations and other legal entities. Additionally, payments to consumers have been transferred to 1 square meter of heated area per day of the heating period.
It is worth mentioning that the French company Veolia became the sole heat supply operator for the city of Tashkent on July 1, 2022, through a public-private partnership. Currently, Veolia provides 90% of heat production in Tashkent, with the remaining 10% being produced by unitary enterprises “Tosh Elektromarkaz” and “Toshkent Elektromarkaz.” Veolia supplies 100% of the heat to the population.
These new regulated prices and considerations towards investment costs demonstrate a commitment to providing fair and stable heat supply services to the residents and businesses of Tashkent.
