TFF Response to Allegations of Early Election Signature Count
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has reiterated that elections will indeed take place on July 18, despite the Clubs Union’s call for early elections.
Istanbulspor Vice President Bayram Saral had previously stated that they had collected 136 signatures for the TFF to hold elections before July 18, with the expectation that this number would soon reach 150-200. However, the TFF responded to his statement by emphasizing that the number of valid signatures was actually 94.
In an official statement, the TFF revealed that the number of signatures received for an extraordinary congress was 109, with 13 delegates officially withdrawing theirs with notary approval and 2 signatures being deemed invalid due to being from unauthorized persons. This results in the number of valid signatures submitted to the TFF for the extraordinary general assembly being 94.
The TFF urged the public not to be swayed by what they deemed as “unrealistic statements made for the purpose of misleading the public.” It is clear that the TFF is committed to following the proper procedures and ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted fairly and according to the established rules.
