A passerby was slightly injured when a 3-storey abandoned building collapsed in Fatih
In a recent incident in Fatih, Istanbul, a 3-storey abandoned building collapsed on Büyük Karaman Street in Zeyrek Neighbourhood. The collapse, which occurred for an unknown reason, led to the injury of a passerby who was in the vicinity at the time.
Upon receiving notification of the collapse, various emergency response teams including fire, health, police, and search and rescue were dispatched to the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance as needed.
A statement from the Istanbul Governor’s Office confirmed that one person passing by the area sustained minor injuries in the incident. Fortunately, initial findings indicated that no individuals were trapped beneath the rubble of the collapsed building.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collapse and working to ensure the safety of the surrounding area. Residents and pedestrians are advised to avoid the vicinity of the collapsed building until further notice.
