Tomsk Oblast and Issyk-Kul regions explore direct flight options
Tomsk Oblast Governor and Kyrgyzstan’s Plenipotentiary Representative Sign Cooperation Agreement
In a significant move towards strengthening ties between regions, Tomsk Oblast governor Vladimir Mazur and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan in Issyk-Kul region, Ulanbek Daliev, have recently signed an agreement on cooperation. The agreement, which was signed via video link, encompasses various spheres including trade and economic, scientific and technical, humanitarian, and more.
The signed agreement also includes a detailed “roadmap” for partnership until 2026, outlining areas of collaboration such as industry and trade, agriculture, science and technology, education, healthcare, information technology, culture and art, tourism, sports, youth policy, and investment activities.
Governor Mazur highlighted the natural resources and the robust scientific and educational complex of Tomsk Oblast, emphasizing the region’s efforts towards efficient utilization of these resources in the economy. He expressed readiness to share expertise in areas such as information technologies in agriculture, processing of agricultural products, and phytotechnologies with Issyk-Kul region.
Additionally, Mazur mentioned the expertise of Tomsk companies and universities in geological exploration, acknowledging the relevance of this field for the economy of Issyk-Kul region. He assured that joint work in this area would be beneficial for both regions.
Ulanbek Daliev also acknowledged the potential for interregional cooperation, especially noting the popularity of Tomsk universities among the youth in Issyk-Kul region. He extended an invitation to a delegation from Tomsk Oblast for a working visit to the republic to further enhance collaboration.
The signed agreement also includes provisions for information assistance to businesses in both regions regarding export opportunities for agricultural and food products, as well as veterinary drugs. It also explores the possibility of organizing Days of Culture of Regions and considering direct flight connections between the two regions.
The agreement signifies a strong commitment towards enhancing cooperation and mutual benefit between Tomsk Oblast and Issyk-Kul region, setting the stage for a fruitful partnership in various important sectors.
