Training Future Inventors at Bilim Üsküdar

Bilim Üsküdar: A Fun Way for Children to Learn Science

Bilim Üsküdar, a science educational center in Istanbul, Turkey, has been helping children learn science since 2018. The center was created through a collaboration between the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, Üsküdar Municipality, and TÜBİTAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.

Since its opening, Bilim Üsküdar has provided science education to over 550,000 students. The center offers five different workshops for children aged 6-14, including design, natural sciences, mathematics, astronomy, and technology. With a focus on learning through experimentation and fun activities, children are encouraged to explore and discover their interests in science.

The center also features three experimental workshops and a library section. Recently, the second phase of Bilim Üsküdar was opened, adding exhibition areas in seven new themes. The center now offers displays on subjects ranging from finance and automotive to the blue planet and national technology. Visitors of all ages can experience the interactive mechanisms installed in these areas.

The highlight of the center is the planetarium, where children lie down to explore the depths of space. Bilim Üsküdar is not just for children, as it also attracts many adults, especially on weekends when the exhibition areas are crowded. All trainings at the center are provided free of charge, and it operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM every day except Mondays.

Bilim Üsküdar aims to make science education fun and accessible to everyone. By engaging children in hands-on activities and inspiring their curiosity, the center hopes to encourage future generations to pursue STEM fields.
