“Trendyol expands to Azerbaijan, fueling global growth”
Turkey’s leading e-commerce platform, Trendyol, has signed an agreement with Pasha Holding, one of the largest holdings in the Caucasus region, to establish a joint company operating in the e-commerce sector in Azerbaijan. The agreement was signed by Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin and Pasha Holding CEO Jalal A. Gasimov at the world’s largest aviation, space and technology festival, TEKNOFEST, with the participation of Turkey’s Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank. With this agreement, Trendyol aims to expand its global growth strategy by entering the Azerbaijan market and contributing to the development of the e-commerce ecosystem in the region.
According to the Minister, Turkish brands want to carry their momentum in e-commerce abroad, and the agreement with Pasha Holding will improve the trade volume between the two countries further. Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin added that the strategic partnership between Pasha Holding and Trendyol will make significant contributions to the development of the Azerbaijan e-commerce ecosystem. Pasha Holding CEO Jalal Gasimov emphasized that the partnership agreement signed will also facilitate know-how transfer in e-commerce between the two countries.
Trendyol is Turkey’s leader in e-commerce and is expanding its business throughout Europe and globally. The company has established its R&D center, Trendyol Tech, and an operational transportation network, Trendyol Express, to consolidate its position in the market. Pasha Holding, on the other hand, operates across several sectors, including banking, insurance, construction, agriculture, and hotel management, and has a strong presence in the digital retail ecosystem.
This partnership will create new job opportunities in the region and promote e-commerce culture, enable SMEs to sell online, and reduce the informal economy. It is expected to increase foreign investment in Azerbaijan and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.
