Turkish Red Crescent Provides Aid Parcel in Idlib

Turkish Red Crescent President Distributes Aid to Children in Syrian Camp

Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meriç Yılmaz recently visited the Al-Damascus Disabled Camp in Idlib, northwest Syria, along with aid volunteers. During her visit, Yılmaz distributed toys to the children in the camp, bringing smiles to their faces.

Thanks to the contributions of generous donors, the Turkish Red Crescent has been able to build 1288 briquette houses in the village of Atasay. After distributing aid parcels to the residents of these houses, Yılmaz spoke to the press, highlighting the ongoing support provided by the Red Crescent in the region. She emphasized that the assistance from Turkey has been crucial for the 4 million people in the area, who have been unable to receive aid from the Assad regime.

Yılmaz also pointed out the challenges faced by families in the region, who have had to relocate multiple times due to political pressures. She mentioned that working alongside the Syrian Red Crescent has strengthened their efforts to reach those in need and provide essential assistance.

“We are extremely happy to open our iftar with our children,” said Yılmaz, referring to the communal evening meal during Ramadan. She expressed her joy in sharing the spirit of solidarity and generosity with the children in the orphan camps, where the Turkish Red Crescent has been providing bread, clothes, and psychosocial support for the past 13 years.

Yılmaz concluded by expressing her belief in the continued partnership between Turkey and Syria, as they work together to support those affected by the ongoing crisis in the region. She spoke about the importance of unity and collaboration in bringing hope and relief to vulnerable communities, and the Turkish Red Crescent’s commitment to serving as a beacon of support and compassion.
