Türkiye to Construct Road from Güzelyalı to Sadrazamköy – BRTK

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and Minister of Public Works visit Kayalar and Sadrazamköy

Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia, Yasin Ekrem Serim, along with Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Erhan Arıklı, recently visited the villages of Kayalar and Sadrazamköy to meet with citizens and discuss important infrastructure developments.

During the visit, Ambassador Serim announced that the Republic of Turkey will be funding the construction of a 16 km road from Güzelyalı to Sadrazamköy. This project has been approved by the Turkish authorities and is scheduled to begin after the expropriation process is completed. The road renovation works are expected to start soon, with the road set to be fully operational by September 2025.

Minister Arıklı revealed that a budget of 20 million TL has been allocated for the maintenance and repair of the road. He also mentioned that Ambassador Serim offered to undertake the construction and cover the costs of the road, as the allocated resources may not be sufficient for a perfect road. This generous offer was gladly accepted by the Ministry.

Arıklı highlighted the importance of the close cooperation between the TRNC and Turkey in infrastructure development. He commended Ambassador Serim for his dedication to improving the roads in the Kayalar-Sadrazamköy area and expressed gratitude for Turkey’s continued support in enhancing the TRNC Highways Department.

The visit underscored the strong partnership between the Republic of Turkey and the TRNC in improving transportation infrastructure and enhancing connectivity for the benefit of both nations. It is a testament to the ongoing commitment to fostering closer ties and promoting economic development in the region.
