Turkmen President Meets with Japanese Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan recently met with the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Endo Toshiaki, during his visit to Japan. The meeting took place on April 14, 2025, and was aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Endo Toshiaki warmly welcomed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Japan and expressed confidence that the visit would enhance the existing ties between Turkmenistan and Japan. He also conveyed warm greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero Arkadag.
In response, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked Endo Toshiaki for his kind words and conveyed greetings from Hero Arkadag. He congratulated Endo Toshiaki on the grand opening of the World Expo 2025 and wished him success in his endeavors.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the importance of expanding and strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, including political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. They highlighted the significance of inter-parliamentary cooperation as a tool for fostering mutual understanding and trust between the two nations.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov commended the activities of the Turkmen-Japanese Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in enhancing ties between the two countries. He also recognized the valuable contribution of Japanese companies to the development of Turkmenistan’s economy, particularly in the oil and gas sector and the chemical industry.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Endo Toshiaki expressed his gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag for their commitment to advancing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.
