
Turkmenistan and Tajikistan Sign Comprehensive Cooperation Agreements

Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have signed a total of 24 documents following talks between the respective countries’ leaders. The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon put signatures under the Declaration on Deepening Strategic Partnership between the two countries. The Declaration was described as an historic factor for the development and stability of the region. Meanwhile, the authorized members of the delegations signed 23 additional agreements focused on cooperation in the fields of healthcare, cybersecurity, plant quarantine, and veterinary medicine. A roadmap for expanding cooperation in the field of agriculture and a program of joint activities were also among the signed documents. Overall, the signed agreements cement a growing diplomatic and trade relationship between the two countries.
