Turkmenistan attends meeting of CIS Council of Heads of Government

Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belarus Participates in CIS Meeting

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Nazarguly Shagulyyev, recently took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow on December 12, 2024.

A number of prominent figures attended the meeting, including the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov; the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko; the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektanov; the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mger Grigoryan; and other key government officials from CIS member countries.

During the meeting, the participants discussed various issues related to economic cooperation within the Commonwealth and made significant decisions. One of the key outcomes was the approval of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of digital transformation of the transport complex. This document aims to enhance collaboration in creating a digital transport infrastructure by implementing institutional and infrastructure transformations.

Additionally, the attendees signed an Agreement on the training of personnel for penitentiary services, with a focus on providing specialized education programs for relevant specialists.

In a bid to strengthen humanitarian cooperation within the CIS, the participants also adopted the Plan of Priority Activities for 2025-2026.

Overall, the meeting served as a platform for constructive discussions and fruitful cooperation among CIS member states in various areas of mutual interest.
