Turkmenistan’s Embassy in Italy to Present Magtymguly Pyragy’s Poems in Italian
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Italy has announced its plan to organize a presentation of the first collection of poems by the renowned Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy in Italian. According to the report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Turkmen government for Culture and Mass Media, Mahrijemal Mammedova, revealed this information during her visit to Italy.
Aside from the presentation of Magtymguly Pyragy’s poems, Mammedova discussed with Italian officials the possibility of promoting humanitarian partnerships between the two countries. One of the proposed methods was arranging exhibitions of the material and spiritual culture of the Turkmen people in Italian museums.
Furthermore, a Turkmenistan delegation led by Mammedova discussed holding joint events in 2024 for the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy’s birth with their Italian counterparts.
Previously, Mammedova met with the Italian Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, to discuss potential collaborations.
The presentation of Magtymguly Pyragy’s poems is expected to boost cultural exchange between Turkmenistan and Italy.
