Unexpected Outcome: Two Different Eye Colors After Surgery
Libyan man Darif Mansour Yahya, 62, faced a terrifying reality in 2020 when he was diagnosed with a virus-based eye infection that left him unable to see. Seeking treatment in various countries such as Belarus, Russia, and Serbia, Yahya was told by doctors that there was no hope for him to regain his vision. However, as a last resort, he turned to Turkey for medical help and was directed to Ophthalmology Specialist Professor Dr. Yusuf Yildirim for a corneal transplant.
After the successful transplant, Yahya, who could only see fuzzy silhouettes, expressed his gratitude for the care and approach taken during his treatment. He mentioned that he is gradually improving and regaining his sight. Dr. Yildirim emphasized the importance of regular medical treatment and control in preventing recurrent viral infections in eye diseases.
Yahya shared his journey of hope, stating, “I never saw it at first, but I see it right now.” He expressed his appreciation for the medical staff, especially Dr. Yildirim, who gave him hope and helped him regain his vision.
