White House Advisor John Kirby Addresses Explosions in Lebanon
During his daily press briefing, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby provided an assessment of the recent explosions in Lebanon. Kirby maintained the US administration’s stance of providing “no comment” regarding the attacks that have occurred over the past two days, involving the detonation of communication devices in Lebanon.
Kirby stated, “All I can say is this: We had no involvement in the events of yesterday or today. Other than that, I have nothing else to share.” When pressed about the potential involvement of Israel in the attacks, Kirby simply responded, “I don’t have anything else to share.”
In response to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s statement regarding a “new phase of war,” Kirby refrained from making any further assessments. When questioned about the impact of these attacks on regional tensions, Kirby emphasized the US’s desire to prevent any escalation in the region but refrained from drawing specific conclusions about the incidents.
“We are actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to prevent further conflict along the Lebanese border. In this crisis, the focus is on diplomacy rather than military action,” Kirby explained.
As the situation in Lebanon remains tense, Kirby’s comments reflect the US administration’s cautious approach towards the recent attacks and the need for diplomatic solutions to avoid further escalation in the region.
