“Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Partner to Accelerate International Industrial Cooperation Center Construction”
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are set to accelerate the creation of the International Industrial Cooperation Center, according to the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper. The countries recently held the 20th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation, during which the heads of the central government offices and business circles from both nations discussed the prospects of deepening cooperation in agriculture and the food industry. Currently, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan account for around 80% of all trade in the Central Asia region. In order to expand trade relations, the publication suggests modernizing transit and transport infrastructure, as well as developing cooperation in the field of ecology and water use. The proposed center is expected to play a crucial role in further developing industrial cooperation between the two countries. Additionally, the countries aim to increase their mutual trade ties and have agreed to a roadmap covering all priority directions, which includes implementing specific projects worth $10 billion.
