Uzbekistan bolsters investor relations with creation of four new working groups
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has proposed the establishment of four working groups within the Foreign Investors Council and urged active participation in their full implementation. The second general meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors, chaired by President Mirziyoyev, took place at the Kuksaroy residence.
During the meeting, President Mirziyoyev expressed satisfaction with the participation of close partners and new members from leading companies and financial institutions around the world. He emphasized the importance of establishing an open and effective dialogue between the government and investors as a key factor in sustainable economic development.
The President called upon the council members to keep up with modern times, set precise plans, and harmonize efforts to achieve mutual goals. He invited the council to establish working groups in four directions to further enhance cooperation.
The first direction is aimed at developing the capital market by attracting internal and external capital to create an international financial center that meets the requirements of foreign investors. The second direction focuses on promoting responsible business practices by implementing OECD principles of economic stability, transparency, and openness.
The third direction aims to incentivize alternative investments by developing a new law on “Venture Investments” to create favorable conditions for startups, innovative projects, and joint investments. Lastly, the fourth direction involves digitizing the investor engagement system by developing a comprehensive electronic platform for all services between state agencies and foreign investors to resolve complex issues in a timely and systematic manner.
President Mirziyoyev’s proposed working groups aim to enhance cooperation and create a conducive environment for foreign investors in Uzbekistan, ultimately boosting economic growth and development in the country.
