
Uzbekistan secures $500M in trade deals at “Made in Uzbekistan” expo in Pakistan

The “Made in Uzbekistan” national industrial exhibition held in Lahore from February 11 to 13 was a resounding success, with over 150 Uzbek entrepreneurs and more than 500 Pakistani business representatives in attendance. The event, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan, concluded at the Lahore Expo Center.
Visitors to the exhibition were treated to a diverse array of Uzbek-made products, ranging from textiles, leather and footwear, electrical equipment, agricultural and food products, furniture and woodworking, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, to construction materials. Uzbekistan’s tourism potential was also prominently featured at the event.
A delegation of over 150 Uzbek entrepreneurs from various industries participated in the exhibition, alongside Pakistani government officials, diplomatic representatives, and business leaders. Over 80,000 visitors explored Uzbekistan’s industrial products and engaged in more than 500 B2B meetings over the course of three days.
The fruitful discussions at the event led to the signing of 181 contracts amounting to $500 million, including $263 million in export deals and $236 million in import agreements. During a meeting with Faiz Ahmad, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, both sides agreed to expand the list of products covered under the Preferential Trade Agreement, expedite the process of obtaining phytosanitary permits for Uzbek fruit and vegetable exports to Pakistan, and establish a joint working group to promote products on e-commerce platforms.
Additionally, talks were held on the establishment of Uzbek trade houses in Pakistan, organizing commercial fairs on a reciprocal basis, and bolstering cooperation in industries such as textiles, food, pharmaceuticals, transport logistics, construction materials, leather processing, ceramics, and furniture manufacturing.
Overall, the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition served as a platform for enhancing trade ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, paving the way for increased collaboration and economic opportunities between the two countries.
