Uzbekistan Invests 216 Trillion UZS in Education Development Over Past Seven Years
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has announced that the country has allocated a significant amount of funding, totaling 216 trillion UZS, for the development of its education system over the past seven years. This investment underscores Uzbekistan’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and resources in order to provide its citizens with quality education.
A substantial portion of this funding, amounting to 19.5 trillion UZS, has been utilized to strengthen the material and technical base of schools and preschools throughout the country. As a result, 6,000 public schools and 3,500 kindergartens have been reconstructed and constructed, improving the learning environment for students across Uzbekistan.
One of the remarkable achievements in the education sector during this period has been the growth of private educational institutions. The number of private schools has increased significantly from 27 to 500, while non-governmental kindergartens have experienced an even more impressive growth, rising from 250 to 30,000.
President Mirziyoyev highlighted the crucial role of educators in shaping the future of the nation, emphasizing the need for them to act as strategists in fulfilling the important goals that determine the fate and future of the Uzbek people. He called on teachers, mentors, kindergarten principals, and school directors to deeply understand the significance of their work and to act accordingly in order to contribute to the betterment of society.
