VéNégy Festival to Bring Theatre, Music and More to Northern Hungary
The VéNégy Festival, also known as the Visegrad Four Festival and Theatre Meeting, is set to take place in Nagymaros, northern Hungary, from June 22-25. The event will offer a diverse range of programmes including theatre and music productions, workshops, film screenings, art exhibitions and folk dance shows, according to organisers. With over 100 programmes on eight stages, the festival has become the largest event of its kind in the Danube Bend region over the past decade. Among the musicians set to perform are Dutch group Kraak+Smaak, soul singer Sharon Kovacs, Austria’s Cari Cari, Slovakia’s Lash+Grey, Poland’s Ina West, Czech Republic’s Kill the Dandies! and Hungary’s Halott Penz and the Bagossy Brothers group. The theatre line-up includes a rock-opera version of Sophocles’ Antigone by Polish company Song of the Goat, as well as a multi-award-winning performance by KTO Theatre.
