Veterinary Urges Farmers to Vaccinate Livestock and Pets

Vaccination of Animals Begins in Kyrgyzstan to Prevent Infectious Diseases
Bishkek – 14:46, 18 February 2025 – The Ministry of Agriculture in Kyrgyzstan has announced the start of animal vaccination to stabilize the epizootic situation in the country and prevent infectious animal diseases.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, farm animals are being vaccinated against rabies, while dogs and cats are receiving medicines for echinococcosis. Every year, vaccines for rabies, thrush, brucellosis, anthrax, echinococcosis, equine scabies, and tuberculosis for cattle and birds are purchased using funds from the republican budget.
In an effort to prevent these zoonotic diseases, district and city departments of the Veterinary Service have organized special open lessons for schoolchildren and are conducting awareness campaigns among the population. The Veterinary Service is urging all citizens to ensure their farm and domestic animals are vaccinated.
This initiative aims to protect both animals and humans from the spread of diseases, highlighting the importance of vaccination in maintaining the health and well-being of the country’s livestock.
