Victims of Apartment Fraud Meet with PM Aripov
Citizens Gather in Front of Government Building to Meet with Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov
In a show of frustration and determination, citizens who had purchased houses on Izzat Street, Yashnabad district, Tashkent city, gathered in front of the government building. Their aim was to meet with Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and seek resolution to the ongoing issue. Tashkent city prosecutor Erkin Yuldoshev was also present during the meeting.
The citizens had signed a contract with “AZIYA INVEST FAVORIT” LLC to purchase houses on Izzat Street. However, despite more than a year and a half passing, no construction work has started. The head of the LLC had been imprisoned, and when citizens tried to demand their money back, they were informed that the company had closed down. The total amount of financial loss suffered by the citizens is estimated to be more than 300 billion soums.
In response to the citizens’ concerns, the Prime Minister assured them that a decision would be made by July 24 of this year. He also stated that all the more than 600 apartments, for which payments had been transferred to the bank account, would be returned to their rightful owners. The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to taking necessary measures to address the situation and ensure the satisfaction of the affected population.
To investigate and resolve the issue, a government commission was established under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov. The commission has been given the deadline of July 20 to complete their research and present conclusions and recommendations to the Cabinet of Ministers.
The citizens’ gathering in front of the government building highlights their determination to seek justice and find a resolution to their housing issue. With the engagement of the Prime Minister and the formation of a government commission dedicated to this matter, there is hope that a fair and satisfactory solution will be reached.
