Vietnam’s State President Visits Mongolia
Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam Embarks on State Visits
On September 30th, Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President To Lam departed from Hanoi with a high-ranking delegation for state visits to Mongolia, Ireland, attendance at the 19th Francophonie Summit, and an official visit to France from September 30th to October 7th. These visits were made at the invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Irish President Michael D. Higgins, and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The delegation accompanying To Lam includes prominent figures such as Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations; and Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister.
These state visits by the top Vietnamese leader to Mongolia reinforce Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification of relations, and proactive international integration. The visits also underline the significance of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia, as well as Vietnam’s desire to enhance and deepen cooperation frameworks in line with the evolving situations and interests of both countries.
