“We unify support for state’s crackdown on unregistered entities, reach agreement on UTTS” – Latest Update
Okumuş Announces Changes in Fuel Station Services
At the Aegean Region Fuel Dealers Meeting organized by the Petroleum Products Employers’ Union (PÜİS) and Menemen Chamber of Commerce (MENTO), important changes regarding fuel station services were announced by PÜİS Chairman İmran Okumuş. The meeting, which was attended by representatives of fuel dealers in the Aegean Region, discussed the implementation of the National Vehicle Recognition System (UTTS) in fuel stations.
Okumuş revealed that fuel stations will now pay the service fee every 5 years instead of annually, in addition to replacing the existing vehicle recognition systems with devices compatible with UTTS free of charge. Moreover, fuel dealers selling less than 3 thousand liters will be supported and can switch to the system without any cost.
In his statement after the meeting, Okumuş emphasized that the transition to UTTS has been a challenging process but is now back to normal. He highlighted the importance of the system in combating unregistered fuel sales and the informal economy.
Furthermore, Okumuş mentioned that they have always supported the state’s efforts against unregistered activities and emphasized the need for reasonable costs to be borne by the sector. He also pointed out that efforts are being made to ensure that labels and batteries used in the system are produced locally and nationally.
Overall, the changes announced by Okumuş are aimed at streamlining operations at fuel stations, promoting compliance with regulations, and enhancing the efficiency of the fuel distribution sector. The sector is now working towards implementing these changes in the best possible way to contribute to the development of the country and eliminate potential issues related to tax evasion and smuggling.
