YÖK Announces Closure of 2nd Education Programs

The President of the Higher Education Council (YÖK), Erol Özvar, has made a significant announcement regarding evening education programs at state universities. He revealed that these programs have been officially closed.

In a statement, Özvar emphasized the importance of this decision in enhancing the quality of programs offered at universities. He highlighted that the focus now is on transforming these programs into ones that are more aligned with future employment opportunities and the evolving demands of various professions.

Furthermore, Özvar mentioned that foundation universities have also been instructed to adjust their plans for the upcoming academic year accordingly.

It is worth noting that in the previous year, around 80 thousand students were enrolled in 1,308 evening education programs. This move marks a notable shift in the educational landscape, with a greater emphasis on preparing students for the workforce and ensuring that their education is more relevant to their future careers.
