10 Injured in Apartment Fire
10 people were hospitalized after a fire broke out in an apartment in Kozlu district of Zonguldak. The fire started on the 6th floor of an apartment building in Güney Mahallesi Hürriyet Caddesi for unknown reasons. Upon notice, firefighters and medical teams rushed to the scene to control the blaze and treat those affected by smoke inhalation.
The residents trapped in the apartment were safely evacuated with the help of a ladder fire truck. Additionally, pets that were trapped in some of the apartments were also rescued. One resident, who was concerned about his two cats, entered the apartment with firefighters to check on them. After about 2 hours of effort, the fire was extinguished and the apartment was damaged.
Kozlu Mayor Ali Bektaş visited the site to receive information and distributed ayran to the fire crews to prevent them from being affected by the smoke. Dilara Erdem, one of the residents, tearfully shared her experience of being scared for her cats trapped in the apartment. She expressed her relief that they were eventually found safe.
