Twelve Injured in Car Accident in Derik District
An accident occurred around 17:00 in the Derik district when a car with plate number 33 EE 772 collided with a service minibus carrying teachers with plate number 34 NG 2188. The drivers’ names are currently unknown.
Twelve people were reported injured in the accident, prompting health and police teams to quickly respond to the scene. The injured individuals were given first aid before being transported to Derik and Kızıltepe State hospitals for further treatment. Fortunately, all injured parties are said to be in good health.
In a surprising turn of events, Governor and Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Tuncay Akkoyun, who happened to be in Derik district at the time for public investment inspections, witnessed the accident. He immediately stopped his official vehicle, rushed to the scene, and provided close care to the injured individuals. Governor Akkoyun also received updates on the health conditions of the victims and shared his well wishes for their speedy recovery.
