1295 Lira Fine Imposed for Violating Forest Entry Ban in Isparta

Violators Fined for Entering Forest Area despite Prohibition in Gölcük Nature Park

Teams from the Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate have discovered vehicles in a forest area at Gölcük Nature Park, where there is a current restriction on forest entry. As a result, fines have been issued to the offenders.

The teams responsible for safeguarding the park have imposed a fine of 1295 Turkish liras on an individual who violated the Forest Law and Misdemeanors Law. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of abiding by regulations put in place to preserve the natural environment.

On July 6, the Governorship of Isparta issued a statement on its social media account, emphasizing the heightened risk of forest fires during the summer due to rising temperatures and drought across the city. Additionally, the increased human and vehicle activity in forested areas poses a significant threat, potentially leading to fires caused by intentional or negligent behavior.

To mitigate these risks and protect the forests, the Governorship has implemented a temporary ban on accessing forest areas. As per Article 74 of the Forest Law No. 6831 and Articles 9 and 66 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, entry into forest areas is strictly prohibited until September 30, 2023. This measure aims to prevent incidents that could devastate natural habitats and endanger both wildlife and human life.

Authorities have urged the public to respect the forest entry restriction and play an active role in safeguarding the environment. It is essential for individuals to remain vigilant, adhere to the rules, and report any violations to the relevant authorities. By collectively taking these measures, everyone can contribute to the preservation of natural landscapes and the prevention of forest fires.
