13 Injured, 4 Detained after Horrific Wedding Incident in Bodrum
A violent incident occurred at a wedding hall in the Ortakent Neighborhood of Muğla’s Bodrum district on August 14 around 00.30. The altercation began when Ö.Ç. and his brother MRÇ. got into an argument with another group at a neighboring table, resulting in a physical altercation.
The confrontation escalated as the parties involved attacked each other with knives, bottles, and chairs. Several people, including Ö.Ç.’s wife NAÇ., her mother-in-law NI, the groom MB, the bride BU, as well as MS, HS, IS, GT, BS, HD, MB, ET, and HCK, sustained injuries during the brawl.
Authorities were informed of the incident, and both health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured individuals received immediate medical attention before being transported to nearby hospitals. Following treatment, 13 people, including the bride and groom, were discharged. Ö.Ç., MRÇ., Ç.Ç., and Y.Ç. (a minor) were apprehended and detained in connection with the incident. After the completion of their police procedures, the four suspects were arrested by the court.
Additionally, security cameras at the venue recorded the moment of the altercation, providing valuable evidence for the investigation. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of peaceful resolutions to conflicts and the consequences of resorting to violence in social situations.
