A widespread public order and security operation was conducted in Edirne by the coordination of the Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch. The operation aimed to maintain general security and order, detect criminal elements, and capture suspects. Police Chief Onur Karaburun visited the application points to oversee the operations and receive information from the teams.

Units of the police department participated in the city-wide practice, where vehicles were stopped and people were subjected to general information collection (GBT) interrogation and body searches. The busy Zübeyde Hanım Street was a focal point for the operation, and the teams left no stone unturned in their efforts to ensure safety and security. Identity checks, luggage searches, and vehicle inspections were carried out as part of the operation.

A total of 183 people were questioned during the inspections, and 78 vehicles were checked. Two individuals were charged with possession, purchase, or carrying of unlicensed weapons, knives, or bullets (6136 SKM). Additionally, two drivers were fined a total of 6,917 Turkish Liras for driving under the influence of alcohol and not being able to present a driver’s license.

It was emphasized that these necessary inspections and practices will be carried out frequently to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for the public. The operation demonstrates the dedication of law enforcement to maintain public safety and order in the city of Edirne.
