
1st Annual Adana Kebab and Turnip Festival Takes Place

The 1st Adana Kebab and Turnip Festival was a resounding success, drawing a large crowd to the event organized by Adanaliler Solidarity Activity and Culture Association in collaboration with Beyarmudu Municipality. The festivities took place at Beyarmudu Municipality’s South Mesarya Facilities, with notable guests including President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia Yasin Ekrem Serim.
The event kicked off with opening speeches, highlighting the importance of preserving Adana’s cultural heritage in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Adanaliler Solidarity Activities and Culture Association President Mehmet Aktaş emphasized the association’s mission to keep Adana’s culture alive, while Mayor of Beyarmudu, Bülent Bebek, underscored the significance of working together for the benefit of the community.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel praised the spirit of unity and solidarity that brought people from different regions together at the festival, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for the people. President Ersin Tatar also expressed his support for the event and the importance of preserving Adana’s cultural traditions in the country.
The festival featured a variety of activities, including the serving of Adana kebab and turnips to the attendees, as well as performances by folk singers Ozan Gül, Ahmet Yiğit, and Bahadır Yiğit. Overall, the event was a celebration of cultural heritage and unity, highlighting the strong bond between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the TRNC.
