2 PKK Terrorists Eliminated with Weapons in ‘Eren Blockade’
Turkey Launches ‘Eren Huzur Spring-Summer’ Operation to Eliminate PKK Presence
Following the success of the Eren Blockade Autumn-Winter Operations, the Turkish Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of a new operation named ‘Eren Huzur Spring-Summer.’ The objective of the operation is to remove the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from the country’s agenda completely, cut off their logistics and supply channels, and neutralize terrorists who are considered to be hiding in the region.
The first mission, named ‘Eren Huzur Spring Summer-1 Diyarbakır-Lice Martyr Gendarmerie Senior Sergeant Oğuzhan Arduç,’ involved 579 personnel, including the Gendarmerie Special Operations, Gendarmerie Commando, and Security Guards. The joint operation neutralized two terrorists on the first day, along with one M-16 and one AK-47 infantry rifle.
The ‘Eren Huzur Spring-Summer’ operation will include 9,222 missions until October 1, including Gendarmerie Commando, Gendarmerie Special Operations, Police Special Operations, and Security Guards.
During the Eren Blockade Autumn-Winter Operations, Turkey neutralized 205 terrorists, destroyed 601 caves and shelters belonging to the PKK, seized 306 guns, 427 hand grenades, and over 1,691 kg of explosives, among other items.
The Turkish Ministry of Interior said the operations would be continued with the support of the public and in a confident and determined spirit, and it aimed to remove the PKK terrorist organization from the country’s agenda completely.
