A heartbreaking incident took place yesterday at 18.30 in the Central Karatay District of Başak Neighborhood in Konya, Turkey. A 2-year-old Syrian national girl named Rana El Selci was visiting relatives with her family when tragedy struck. While playing on the street with other children before iftar time, Rana was left alone and was subsequently attacked by about 10 dogs.

Citizens in the area found the child lying lifeless in a pool of blood on an empty lot and immediately contacted health and police teams. Despite their best efforts, medical personnel confirmed that the child had lost her life.

The lifeless body of the little girl was then taken to the Konya Forensic Medicine Institute for further examination. The community, as well as local authorities, were shocked and saddened by the tragic event.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

In a statement issued by the Konya Governorate, it was confirmed that the 2-year-old child had been attacked by stray dogs and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries despite receiving medical treatment. The Governorate extended its deepest sympathies to the family of the victim.
