20 irregular immigrants intercepted off the coast of Çanakkale
The Coast Guard North Aegean Group Command has successfully detected a group of irregular immigrants off the coast of Ayvacık. The teams spotted the immigrants in a rubber boat and immediately dispatched the Coast Guard boat “TCSG-8” to the area. Upon approaching the rubber boat, the teams were able to apprehend 20 irregular immigrants, one of whom was a child of Palestinian nationality.
After the immigrants were safely brought ashore, they were transferred to the Ayvacık Repatriation Center. This successful operation by the Coast Guard highlights their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the region’s waters. The authorities continue to work tirelessly to combat irregular migration and prevent dangerous journeys across the Aegean Sea.
