2024 Hungarian Grand Prix: Fans can enjoy free buses and more trains from Budapest

The MÁV-Volán Group is all set to launch new buses and increase railway capacity from Budapest to the Hungaroring during the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix 2024 this weekend.

According to iho.hu, a Hungarian travel news outlet, HÉV line nr 8 will have increased capacities between Budapest and Gödöllő to facilitate fans’ commute to the Hungaroring. In the evenings, KISS double-deckers and modern Flirt trains will be in service to assist people in returning to the capital between 19 and 21 July.

MÁV Ltd has announced that visitors can purchase an F1 Travel Pass valid for all railway and bus lines operated by the MÁV-Volán Group in Pest County if they are not going to Budapest during their stay. For using public transport services in Budapest, a Pest County Pass valid for 30 days should be purchased.

The Group is advising all visitors to choose climatised trains in Gödöllő after boarding the occasional services of the Volánbusz. These trains reach Budapest Keleti railway station in 30-40 minutes, saving visitors from the crowded trains on the H8 (Budapest-Gödöllő suburban railway).

To purchase tickets, the MÁV app is recommended for planning journeys, and travelers can also use EMMA (emma.mav.hu), a map-based route planner.
