2025-2026 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
Fulbright Visiting Scholar awards are open to qualified Tajik professionals seeking to conduct research at U.S. universities for up to one academic year. This opportunity is particularly suitable for university faculty members and researchers at government and non-government institutions. Applicants with ten or more years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility criteria include being a citizen of Tajikistan residing in the country at the time of application and holding a doctoral degree or equivalent professional qualification.
A wide range of research fields are considered, including Agriculture, Mathematics, Economics, Education, Engineering, Public Health, and many more. Those focusing on Business Administration, Journalism, Social Work, and Gender & Law Studies will have a competitive edge. However, applicants in law fields are limited to a maximum of one semester.
Selection criteria involve submitting a detailed research proposal for a U.S. university, demonstrating English language proficiency, showcasing the project’s value to both home and host institutions, and exemplifying the ability to represent Tajikistan culturally.

Nominations are made by the U.S. Embassy and reviewed by independent committees in the United States, with final approval by the J. William Fulbright Scholarship Board.
