Honor March Set to Take Place on May 17: A Call for Justice and Equality
On May 17, the Honor March will commence in front of the old Suitex and conclude at the Lefkeliler Inn, marking a significant event in the LGBTQ+ rights movement. The May 17 Organization Committee, rallying under the banner "Print is a single color, resistance rainbow," has announced a series of activities aimed at promoting justice, equality, and freedom.
During a recent press conference held at the Human Rights House, representatives of the committee emphasized the importance of this march. "On May 17, 2025, we will be on the streets to raise our voices against hate crimes, homophobia, transphobia, and bifobia," they stated. The message was clear: the struggles faced by marginalized communities should not go unnoticed.
The committee’s statement highlighted that individuals around the world are often forced to hide their identities and experiences. "We’re stronger together, we’re more visible together," the committee affirmed. They stressed that regardless of the different chains that constrain them, true freedom will only be achieved when all individuals are free.
