2026–2027 Fulbright Foreign Student Program

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is now accepting applications for graduate students and young professionals from Tajikistan to earn a master’s degree in U.S. universities for up to two years beginning in the academic year 2026-2027.

The program is open to all fields of study except for medical sciences, with the following areas being especially competitive: Business and Entrepreneurship, Critical Mineral Management and Mining, Public Policy and Administration, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, and Digital Governance and Finance.

To be eligible, applicants must be citizens of Tajikistan residing in the country at the time of application, have completed their undergraduate education and hold a bachelor’s degree, and have a minimum of two years of professional experience.

The online application requires the submission of academic transcripts, diplomas with English translations, three reference letters, TOEFL and GRE test scores (if available), a resume or CV, and a copy of the passport bio-data page.

Selected candidates will receive support in the form of J-1 visa assistance, tuition and fees coverage, health insurance, a monthly stipend, books and supplies, and international airfare to and from the U.S.

Selection criteria include a high level of English proficiency, outstanding academic records, mandatory testing for semi-finalists, and demonstrated motivation, commitment, and leadership potential.

The application deadline is May 23, 2025, and interested applicants can access the online application at https://apply.iie.org/ffsp2026. Nominations are made by the U.S. Embassy and reviewed by independent committees, with final approval by the J. William Fulbright Scholarship Board.
