Coast Guard Halts Migrant Smuggling Operation in Bodrum
A recent statement from the Coast Guard Command has revealed that a Coast Guard Boat was dispatched to the Bodrum region after receiving information about migrant smuggling activities via speedboat. The swift response led to the apprehension of three suspects on the speedboat, who were believed to be involved in smuggling immigrants.
Following a coordinated effort with the Bodrum District Police Department, a total of 19 irregular immigrants were intercepted on land. In a separate incident, two individuals attempting to swim to Greece were also apprehended and brought safely to shore.
All the immigrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing. The successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat migrant smuggling activities in the region.
