22 Wells Producing 27,000 Barrels of Oil Daily – Latest Update

A new oil reserve has been discovered on Gabar Mountain in Turkey, with a total of 36 oil wells being opened in the “Şehit Esma Çevik Oil Field”. Out of these 36 wells, 22 are currently producing oil, while drilling work continues in the remaining 14. The 22 wells in production are extracting a total of 27 thousand barrels of oil daily.
Şırnak Governor Cevdet Atay recently visited the oil field, accompanied by Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Murat Bulut and Provincial Police Chief Cemal Dalman, to inspect the ongoing exploration activities. During the visit, Governor Atay received information about the work from Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Şırnak Regional Manager Oğuz Şahin, and later pressed the Start button to open the first valve at the site.
During a statement to the press, Governor Atay announced the opening of a new oil well in the Gabar Mountain region, with the Martyr Esma Çevik Oil Wells now in operation. He also mentioned that they have commissioned the 22nd well in total, with expectations for a daily production of 2 thousand barrels of oil from the newly opened well.
Governor Atay expressed his optimism about the future of the oil reserve, stating that they aim to reach a daily production of 35 thousand barrels with the wells expected to be put into service by the end of the year. Their ultimate goal is to reach a production of 100 thousand barrels a day by the end of 2024.
He also thanked the teams working on the project and the security personnel for their sacrifices and dedication in ensuring the success of the oil exploration activities. The developments on Gabar Mountain not only hold promise for the region of Şırnak but also for the entire country of Turkey.
