25 Drivers Fined 100,893 Lira During Traffic Inspection in Muğla
Traffic Police Conduct Alcohol Checks in University Neighborhoods
In an effort to ensure the safety of the community, traffic police conducted alcohol checks at the entrance and exit points of Kötekli and Yeniköy Neighborhoods, which are densely populated by university students. A total of 11 teams and 30 personnel from the Traffic Registration and Inspection Branch Directorate participated in the inspection.
The teams not only checked for alcohol but also conducted General Information Collection (GBT) inquiries of the drivers and passengers. As a result of the inspections, 224 drivers were tested for alcohol, leading to the confiscation of 7 driver’s licenses due to drunk driving. Additionally, 25 drivers were fined a total of 100,893 Turkish Liras for various traffic violations.
During the inspections, a person with a record of making threats was detained. The suspect was penalized for driving without a license, and their vehicle was impounded.
Citizens were reminded of the importance of not drinking and driving, wearing seat belts, and refraining from using mobile phones while operating a vehicle.
The police’s efforts to enforce traffic regulations and ensure public safety are commendable, and it is crucial for all members of the community to adhere to traffic laws for the well-being of everyone on the road.
