25,000 People Affected by Flooding in Kazakhstan

The latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Astana reveals that 24,496 people have returned to their homes across the country after being in temporary accommodation centers. However, there are still 8,850 individuals, including 3,840 children, who remain in these centers.

Throughout the country, there are 32 road overflows and 56 road washouts being controlled, including nine bridges and 45 road surfaces. Supplies of food and medication have been delivered to 32 villages that are under control but are lacking transportation connections.

In the West Kazakhstan Region, the water level in the Zhaiyk River continues to rise, prompting the evacuation of 13,880 people, including 5,748 children, from their homes. Currently, 13,044 country houses in the region remain flooded.

In the North Kazakhstan Region, there have been no new reports of house flooding, but the water level in the Yessil River is decreasing. Efforts are ongoing to drain and pump water from 5,842 private residential buildings and 1,061 courtyard areas in Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, and North Kazakhstan Regions.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations expressed gratitude to volunteers and rescuers who have been assisting in flood control measures and providing support to residents since the beginning of the floods. Their efforts have been vital in helping those affected by the natural disaster.
