
3 Top Organized Crime Ringleaders Caught in Kafes-21 Sting

Three organized crime group leaders, two of whom were wanted with a Red Bulletin and one with a Diffusion Message, were captured during the “Cage-21” operations held in Alanya and Istanbul. Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya congratulated the police officers who organized the operation and expressed determination to cleanse the country from national and international organized crime organizations and poison traffickers. The ringleaders of the 3 wanted organized crime groups were captured under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security’s Anti-Narcotic Crimes Directorate. The operations were organized by Antalya and Istanbul Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorates, Immigrant Smuggling and Border Gates Branch Directorates. The ringleader of the organized crime group, Thomas Josef Konrad, was sought by Interpol with a red notice. He was involved in drug trafficking from Poland to Italy and Spain and shipping them to other European countries. Jinking Peng, another leader of the organization, was wanted by Interpol with a red notice and was caught in Fatih, Istanbul. Daniel Alexander Muller, the third leader wanted as a fugitive suspect of the operation to seize 1 ton of cocaine in Germany, was captured in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. The Minister emphasized that the nation’s prayers are with the police officers and expressed a commitment to eradicate organized crime in the country.
