33 Suspects in Court for Bozdoğan-11 Operation against DAESH in Sakarya
33 Suspects Captured in Anti-Terrorism Operation in Turkey
The Turkish police have completed the procedures for 33 suspects who were captured in operations led by the Provincial Police Department’s Anti-Terrorism (TEM) Branch Directorate. The operations were conducted under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security Intelligence Directorate and Counter-Terrorism Department, in collaboration with the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
After the suspects were captured, they underwent a medical check-up at Yenikent State Hospital before being transferred to the courthouse for further proceedings.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya took to his social media account to announce that the suspects were arrested in the simultaneous “Bozdoğan-11” operations against the terrorist organization DAESH. Yerlikaya stated that the suspects were allegedly involved in preparing for actions before the local elections, providing personnel to conflict zones, and contributing to the organization through financing terrorism. It was also found that they were providing financial aid and operating as illegal masjids and madrassas.
During the operations, the police seized 4 unlicensed pistols, 2 unlicensed rifles, a significant amount of foreign currency, various living materials, and prohibited publications and documents. Minister Yerlikaya commended the police for their successful operation.
The arrests of these suspects highlight the continued efforts of the Turkish authorities to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of the country.
