Minister Tunç announced: 34 detained in the attempt to attack the courthouse
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç inspected the scene after the attack at the Istanbul Palace of Justice. In his statement later, Tunç said, “3 of our police officers were injured. Their condition is good. 4 of our citizens were injured, one of our citizens died in the hospital. 34 people were detained.”
Highlights from Minister Tunç’s statements are as follows:
-1 deputy chief prosecutor and 5 prosecutors were assigned to the attack
-Forensic investigation continues.
-Male terrorist spent 15 years in prison and completed his execution
-The attention of our police prevented the disaster
-There are 34 detainees.
Minister Tunç made the following statements:
During the conflict, 4 of our citizens were injured and one of our citizens died. 2 of our police officers were injured, but they are in good health. I pray to God for healing for the injured. I wish God’s mercy to our citizen who lost his life.
A disaster was avoided thanks to the prevention of our police.
Our esteemed President and Minister of Internal Affairs are also following the incident closely.
The judicial investigation is currently continuing with all its details. 5 of our Public Prosecutors were appointed. There are 34 detainees.
The neutralized male terrorist was convicted of terrorism in 2004 and served a 15-year sentence. The other female terrorist is someone whose case is ongoing in the Supreme Court for membership in a terrorist organization, and she was detained in prison for 4 years and 2 months. His sister and brother were also due to be heard in the high criminal court in this courthouse today.
If the terrorists had been able to enter through the door, maybe they would have carried out a bigger terrorist attack there.
A major terrorist act was prevented here. Our police officers did this at the risk of being injured.
Things to be evaluated within the framework of a judicial investigation. The previous situations of these terrorists, where and with whom they were in contact will be examined. 34 people thought to be in contact with them are in custody. People connected to this terrorist act will of course be revealed.
Details coming…
