4 Major Sports Clubs to Introduce 5G Technology in Stadiums

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu announced the ongoing 5G studies in Turkey in coordination with the Ministry, Information and Communication Authority (BTK), private sector representatives, and relevant public institutions.
In a written statement, Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that operators have officially requested the implementation of 5G technology in major stadiums such as Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor. The first test of this technology will take place at Rams Park Arena during Galatasaray’s match against AZ Alkmaar in the European Cup.
Currently, the BTK, operators, and manufacturers are working on obtaining testing and trading permits for 5G technology. Tests are being conducted at 34 different points in cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Kocaeli, Tekirdag, Eskisehir, and Konya.
Minister Uraloğlu also mentioned that Istanbul Airport is one of the locations where citizens can experience 5G technology with compatible devices. Official requests have been received for the installation of 5G in 4 stadiums, and once these applications are evaluated, the service offer conditions will be determined, and the necessary infrastructure will be established. The plan is to make 5G technology available to citizens by 2026.
The developments in the implementation of 5G technology in Turkey demonstrate the country’s commitment to keeping up with technological advancements and providing its citizens with the best possible digital experience.
