4 Vehicles Fall Into Retaining Wall Pit During Heavy Rain

The heavy rain that swept through Bursa on Tuesday morning had a significant impact on the daily lives of residents. The downpour resulted in the collapse of a retaining wall on Vendimehmet 124th street around 21.30, leading to a harrowing incident.
The collapsed wall created a pit, causing four parked vehicles, including a car with plate numbers 16 AJF 280, 16 AAB 62, 16 AGK 467, and a light commercial vehicle with plate number 16 U 3220, to fall into the pit. The police, fire brigade, and AFAD teams were promptly dispatched to the scene following reports from nearby citizens. As a precaution, residents of a nearby 5-story building were evacuated.
A crane was used to remove the damaged vehicles from the pit, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. However, material damage to the vehicles was inevitable. The police have since initiated an investigation into the incident.
The heavy rain also caused significant disruption to the area, with authorities urging residents to take caution. In related news, the Meteorology Department has issued an orange warning, indicating further changes in weather patterns on Tuesday.
As the community recovers from the aftermath of this incident, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of being prepared for unexpected natural calamities.
