407 Sports Clubs in Thrace Receive 9.5 Million Liras in Cash Aid
Over 400 Sports Clubs Receive Financial Support in Turkey
Around 400 sports clubs in Edirne, Tekirdag, and Kirklareli have received financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Edirne Governor H. Kürşat Kırbıyık announced that there will be new sports investments and that 25 November Stadium will be renovated to put it into service for young people. The Ministry of Youth and Sports provided a total of 3 million 322 thousand 500 Turkish Liras of support to 130 sports clubs in Edirne. Kırbıyık also expressed his expectation for young people to use these sports facilities in the best way possible to prepare themselves for national and international competitions.
In Tekirdag, 174 sports clubs received a donation of 4 million 215 thousand liras. The Provincial Youth and Sports Director highlighted the successful achievements of Tekirdag athletes in national and international races over the years, with world champions among them. The attendees were informed about the ongoing facilities under construction.
In Kirklareli, 103 sports clubs were provided with 2 million 25 thousand TL of cash support, which was delivered by the local authorities and institutions. The governor emphasized their effort to increase the success of the clubs with the financial aids provided by the Ministry.
These financial supports to sports clubs are crucial for the development and establishment of sports at the amateur level in Turkey. The government aims to provide young people with the best social, cultural, academic, and sports education, and investing in sports facilities is a step towards accomplishing that goal.
